To make an application for a Tier 2 UK Work Permit you must have received a confirmed offer of employment from a licensed UK employer and be in possession of a certificate of sponsorship issued by your sponsoring employer.
You are also required to achieve a minimum score of 70 points from the following areas of assessment.
Job is on the shortage occupation list - 50 points
Job has met the resident labour market test - 30 points
Switching from the post-study worker category - 30 points
A PhD qualification - 15 points
A Master's Degree - 10 points
A Bachelor's Degree - 10 points
An NVQ level 3 qualification - 5 points
£17,000-19,999 - 5 points
£20,000-21,999 - 10 points
£22,000-23,999 - 15 points
In excess of £24,000 - 20 Points
To submit a successful application you must achieve a score of 10 points for evidence of your English language skills.
You must also satisfy the maintenance requirements and achieve the required maintenance score of 10 points by showing that you have had £800 in your bank account for at least three months prior to making your application.
